I’ve spent nearly two decades building a career in HR compliance and employment law, across healthcare, professional services, staffing, and entertainment, leading enterprise compliance programs that cover investigations, audits, policy management, and regulatory frameworks. I hold the CCEP and SPHR certifications.

My work has always centered on a simple idea: compliance shouldn’t be something only lawyers understand. It should be practical, usable, and built into how organizations actually operate.

Compliance works through people and culture, or it doesn’t really work. That belief is what led me to write HR Compliance: A Practical Guide to Managing the Challenges in a Complex Legal Environment, the resource I wish I’d had earlier in my career.

I live in Southern California with my spouse and two dogs. When I’m not writing about compliance, I’m usually gardening, hiking, or daydreaming about homestead life.
